Naomi Judd is an American country music singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known for her work as part of the mother-daughter duo The Judds, with her daughter Wynonna Judd. She has won five Grammy Awards and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Naomi was born in Ashland, Kentucky, and grew up in a large family of seven children. She attended college at the University of Tennessee, where she studied nursing. After college, she worked as a nurse in Los Angeles and then moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
